ABOUT GIRL SCOUT GOLD AWARD PROJECT

Ciara Marie

I am a Girl Scout from Troop 63449 located in Lakewood, Colorado. I have been in Girl Scouts for 13 years, starting when I was a Daisy in kindergarten. I completed my Bronze and Silver Awards so earning the Gold Award will help me to complete my Girl Scout goals. The Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn, and for my Gold Award, I am helping Mary's Homes of Hope educate the community and nation about single mothers and some of the struggles that they face. I created this website for Mary's Homes of Hope to spread awareness about single mothers in need of support. In turn, I have collected many donations of baby supplies and household items that were donated to Mary's Homes of Hope for the women who live there.

The reasons I chose this project is because it is faith-based. My sister is an unwed mother. I have seen the struggles she has faced and I would like to help her and other women.  I will be serving God by helping those in need of support.

I hope to make a positive impact in my community and the world by addressing this issue that is important to me since it will also allow me to grow, learn, and help change the community and the world one step at a time.
